Marshall County, located in northeast Alabama in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, is one of the most densely populated rural areas in the Eastern United States. With beautiful lakes and scenic mountains, Marshall County is a great place to live, work and play.
Agriculture plays a major role in the economic development of Marshall County. Poultry and egg production in Marshall County ranks third in the state. Three major poultry integrators are located in Marshall County.
Pilgrim's Pride, Tyson Foods, and Wayne Farms each have division offices, processing plants, feed mills, and hatcheries in Marshall County. These facilities serve not only Marshall County but all surrounding counties with chickens, feed, processing, service and supervision.
The Marshall County Poultry & Egg Association represents approximately 250 producers. The MCP&EA began a scholarship program in 2006 for children of poultry growers in Marshall County. For more information, click on the scholarship icon.
